Hi, my name is Tasi, actually, it’s Antanasia, but no one calls me that.
Growing up sheltered from others was not how I wanted to spend my life. I gave up going to school, parties, and friends, all for the people I loved. The same people that lied to me. The same people that died for me.

Sounds pretty cool, right? Wrong. As we age, we go through different transformations. The first one happens at thirteen. When I went through it, my senses got sharper, I put on four inches, and I started craving blood.
Plus, because of what we are, someone is out to get us. Dhampyrs are apparently rare. Some say vampires want us because our blood is a delicacy. Whatever it is, bloodsuckers won’t sink their dirty fangs into me or my sister. She’s my life, and I’ll protect her until I take my last breath.
Being on the run has been a learning experience. Luckily, my mother left us instructions on what to do before she died. I really wish she hadn’t lied to us; it would make trusting her easier. Either way, it’s time to uncover the mysteries of being a dhampyr and hope I can survive another day to protect us from the world that hates us.
